The workbook, Managing Municipal Infrastructure in a Changing Climate, focuses specifically on climate change and municipal infrastructure, and complements the 7 Steps to Assess Climate Change Vulnerability in Your Community tool. The workbook is designed to be completed by municipal officials and staff in a group setting over a period of 3 hours. It guides participants through a series of exercises, beginning with a discussion of municipal infrastructure, how it is planned, constructed and maintained. In the second section, participants are asked to consider how their communities are being affected by changes in local weather patterns. In the final section of the workbook, participants will discuss what can be done to manage and protect municipal infrastructure to minimize the vulnerability of their community to the impacts of a changing climate. |
