Inland Flooding

Climate change will likely bring more precipitation to Atlantic Canada.  Changes in the amount, timing and nature of precipitation could contribute to more severe and frequent flooding events.      

Future flood risk is being mapped and modelled in communities across Atlantic Canada through the Regional Adaptation Collaborative.  Assessing future flood risk will allow for better managment of surface and storm water resources through land use planning and infrastructure design specifications (e.g. culvert, bridge and roads).
